***UPDATE****
Half day today, then on the road.
It’s Monday, Jake is on his way. I have been stalking him with the Spot me service he got. All is looking well, the weather is shaping up to be really nice on our trip. Excited is not the word I would use to describe how I feel this week. I can barley sit at my desk.

Where to begin, I sold and item on ebay and needed it shipped, I loaded up and I was off to the UPS store. Before I left the house I made sure I had the correct address, I checked many times. After talking to the young lady at the counter she asked if I was sure about the address, I told her I was, but if I could use a pc with the Internet I would make certain. She lead me around the counter to a terminal where I could check my email to verify the address, WRONG!! Her manager (troll) came from the back and the look on her face when she saw I was checking my email was priceless, you would have thought I was hacking their system. The manager goes to the back and returns on the cordless phone and she was asking the person on the other end to run a scan on the PC I was just using, because there had been a PC breach…… I left the store and thanked the young lady at the counter for helping me and letting me confirm the address, the manager was still on the phone probably reporting my tag to the NSA for hacking UPS.

A little over 2 weeks before I strike out on my ride with my friend Jake, I have already started making preparations, mulling over what exactly I plan on taking and such. Our route is taking us nearly 1000 miles through AL and FL. I am ready for a vacation and I can not think of a better way to spend it then on the bike camping out at night and going where the road takes us. Places I know we are going is USS Alabama, Pink Pony Pub, FloraBama, and Fort Morgan, the list will be quite long by the time we return.

***UPDATE**** These are the pics I took after the rain and what it did to my lake.
Whew. Glad that that is over. No loss of power, property, or any damage. I prepared for Gustav like many other residents here, stocking up on gas, water and other essentials, I did it because I remember what Katrina did to this area and how supplies were very limited. I did not go to the extreme like some people did buying 8 cases of water 55 gal drums full of gas, 6 loves of bread and every cracker that was not nailed down. WalNeck was a zoo. It’s not likley that we’ll ever see another storm like Katrina but I would rather be prepared than not. I stored a thing of water and a little gas to run the generator if all else I was going to Jackson if need be. Gustav did knock down small branches and bring a ton of rain, I used the horrible day to do some much needed work on the VTX. I connected my lightbar and removed the pair system. This morning as I shuffled around getting ready for work I noticed the weather channel talking about a new storm Ike that could be in the gulf this weekend…

He was foul mouthed , mean and anti-establishment but he made us laugh, he pointed out the excesses and flaws of American culture and taught us the 7 Dirty Words you just can’t say on T.V. June 22 2008 George Carlin has died. I will never forgert the first tape of his I listened to, I was 16 and my friend Andy bought me the tape for my birthday, I was an instant fan. I will leave you with a quote from the man himself.
"Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a a boat and drink beer all day."
